Happy Blogiversary

Yes, it is my Blogiversary today! I am a whole year old! We have had a lot of 1 year old birthdays lately and as my kids would say, I am no longer a zero!

So I thinks I would love to have a contest. In honor of it being my 1st birthday, and all of the babies around me turning 1, I will have a Baby contest:) All you need to do is, leave a comment, in the comment tell me what your favorite baby item to knit is, a link showing the item would be great, or where you could find the pattern for it! And, tell me how you got here, it could earn the person who sent you an extra entry. The contest will end at midnight on April 13th -- my moms birthday:) It's all about birthdays here!

The Prize?? In your comment, ask for a type of yarn. i.e. sock, wool, silk, novelty. As well as a favorite color. I will make the prize from your comment, so a tailored to you prize! There will be one winner picked by the random number generator! Good luck and Happy blogiversary to me:)

I just had a very similar contest, where I asked the participants to give me their favorite baby patterns. It was tons of fun!

So far, my favorite baby item to knit was Robin Hood from Zoe Mellor's book "Adorable Knits for Tots."

Here's my version of it (it's the green sweater, although I loved the cream sweater, too, and it's in that same book).

My favorite baby thing to knit is afghans. No particular patterns, just afghans of any type. Babies don't outgrow them, so they can be used for years.

As for yarn, I'd like to try some silk, in a blue or teal. I found you through the Ravelry forum.

Oh, and happy blogiversary.

Happy Blogiversary! And many more! My favorite baby item to knit is Stripes for Baby Cardigan from Knit 'n Style, October 2007. I knit it with a self-striping yarn and it is adorable. I found this great contest on ravelry (and you can see my baby cardigan in my projects there).
Should I be lucky enough to win, my favorite yarn is sock yarn and I would love something in merlot or forest green.

P.S. My birthday is in April, too!

Happy Blogiversary! One of my favorite baby items to knit are the animal booties by Zoe Mellor. You can see the Bear and Bunny booties I knit in my Ravelry projects here: The pattern can be found in her book Animal Knits and I think (but haven't confirmed) it is also in her 50 Baby Bootees to Knit book.

You know, I think knitting a hemlock ring blanket in a baby hued yarn in a smaller gauge yarn, like sportweight, would be a such a pretty baby blanket. The link is at I got here through the contestants enter here rav group!

As for yarn, I love purples, blues, reds, and sock yarn in general.

The Baby Surprise Jacket, of course! It's in Elizabeth Zimmermann's Opinionated Knitter. It's fun to knit and really cute.

I'm into sock yarn these days - anything vibrant, but cobalt blue is my favorite. :)
Thanks for running your contest and congrats on your blogiversary!

Happy Blogiversary!
My favorite thing to make for babies is hats, 'cause they're so cute. I recently made a Teacozy Baby Hat in two colors and it was lots of fun.

If I am lucky to win, I would love to try some indie-dyed yarn like Scout's Swag or Yarn Pirate, etc. I love bright colors, especially green.

Happy blogiversary! My favorite baby pattern is Poor Mojo's squid hat, but I'm known for having a somewhat strange sense of humor and love for all things squiddy. My favorite color is green, and I like sock yarn. :)

-cthulhulovesme from Ravelry, where I found your post about this.

I have actually never knit a baby item but there are a ton that I would love to knit if only I had a baby to knit for. Hopefully in a few years I will have one of my own to knit for. Anyways I think that one of my favorites out of the patterns I have seen is Cardigan for Mary which is an adaption to Kate Gilbert's A Cardigan for Arwen. The adaptation can be downloaded for free on ravelry at this link but you need the pattern for A Cardigan for Arwen in order to get the cable chart.
I will also add the link to A Cardigan for Arwen since you need that pattern as well.

As far as yarn I would pick sock yarn for sure and either a peach or any color pink for a color.

I really like the baby patterns in One Skein. I have knit the Baby Hat and the Petal Bib. Both have come out really cute. I don't really know that many babies so I haven't knit that much. These were both for friend's baby showers.

You know, I am not sure how I came about your blog. Either through one of my contests or your's. I have enjoyed reading your posts, though.

Happy Blogiversary!

Congratulations on your blogoversary! Since my friends haven't started popping out babys yet, I have only looked on Ravelry for babypatterns to prepare myself ;) I just adore the "Tomato Baby Beanie" ( ) and I really can't wait to try to make one, just need someone to make it for.
As for yarn, I love sockyarn! Every color works for me, but I do love purple and blues.

I made up a pattern for a Kittenhead hat because I hated picking up for ears on other patterns. This one is knit in the round, to the tips of the ears. My wee babies love to play with the ears, and when we get a batch of kiddos together with those hats on, it's like a herd of cats.
I'll be writing out the pattern hopefully this month and putting it in the description on Ravelry.

I got here by following your link in Contests :)

Natural fiber, any color as long as it's GREEN! :)

I would love sock yarn in pink and green. Happy blogiversary! I found you through Ravelry.

Happy Bloggiversary! My favorite baby pattern is this little elf-like hat. It's quick to knit, works for a girl or a boy, can be knit in any size yarn and looks absolutely adorable on babies and toddlers!

I found you thru ravelry. If I win, I'd love a skein of banana fiber yarn (if you have it) because my mother wants to knit with different types of yarn. She hasn't knit with Bamboo yet either, so that'd be good too.

I like hats or socks for baby gift knits. I recently knitted a cute hat from sock yarn.

Norwegian Sweet Baby Cap / Djevellue

I found you via Ravelry. If I win, I'd like sock yarn in red, blue, purple or green.

Happy Blogiversary!

Happy Blogiversary! I am a brand new knitter so I've never knitted a baby item. But I found the Dress with Eyelets by Debbie Bliss and I think I'll try that.

I found you through Ravelry.
I would love some sock yarn in either green or a summery color.

I make entrelac baby blankets or baby surprise jackets, depending on how close I am to the baby's parents. (The baby blankets take a lot longer, so they're for my favourite people.)

What a generous prize offer, too! I love shades of purple, and would enjoy any kind of natural yarn.

Happy Blogiversary!!! My favorite baby thing that I knit recently was The Hemlock Ring Blanket.

The pattern can be found on my blog. It wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done but definitely one of the most satisfying when it was finished.

I love sock yarns and my favourite colour is purple.

Happy Bloggiversary! I found you on the Favorite Colorswap blog.

My favorite knitted baby item is the Basic Pullover. It constructed top-down and seamless. I made one in navy blue for my little nephew and I swear he looked like a baby j-crew commercial!

I love worsted weight yarns and burgundy is one of my favorite colors.

Heya, happy Blogiversary! I came via your post in the Ravelry contests group.

My favorite baby patterns are Hunca Munca baby socks and Saartje's Bootees

When the expecting mother opened the booties, everyone at the shower just about had a fit over how cute they are.

I'm particularly hooked on sock yarns lately and I love earthy colors or jewel tones.
