Back to school and lovin it

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, Anders and Hannah went back to school this week and we all are loving it! The kids like both of their teachers and the house is so quiet, in a good way:) The down side of this week is when Hannah woke up for the first day of school, she had the flu all day! But, she got to have her own special First day of school on Tuesday!
Other than that I have been knitting Hannah's Skirt, it is from the Hip in Hemp Pattern on Knitty.com. I also tried cables for the first time recently, I have to say, all of the things I thought would be hard about knitting are easy, it is just another version of the same stitch! So I decided to make a big cable for a scarf, I thought it would be fun. I am still working on it, it is knit with Wool Ease thick and Quick on size 15 needles. It is a 10 stitch scarf with a 3 stitch cable.
We also had some other good news since my last post, AJ went home from the hospital last Friday! That is a huge answer to our prayers. My Brothers Mother-in-Law made some really cool bracelets that say "Pray for A.J. Brannan" on them. They are cute and a good reminder to still pray for his full recovery everyday!.
Today was also Anders 7th Birthday! We celebrated with Krispy Kremes for his class at school and the we went to Flying Pie for Dinner. Larry built him a loft bed for his birthday. It is very cool and high!
Knitting Frenzy
I have been on a knitting frenzy lately! I have knitted up a scarf, shawl, several dishcloths and a hat! It all started with Hannah's Caplet, I made that because I found all of this Wool Ease thick and qUick that I had bought to knit myself a sweater, started and then I decided I did not like how it looked, so I ripped it out, if you knit you know the drill!
Anyways I have spent this summer knitting things with that yarn, First Hannah's Capelet, then a shawl. I got this pattern out of Debbie Macombers newest Knitting book. After I finished those I found a whole bunch more yarn and some almost finished projects so I got even more done. I found the pixie hat half done (it is made with Cascade 220 -- my favorite wool! from a pattern in the book called Knit Wit)and the bunny (knit with Baby Homespun) half done so I finished those and then I found the yarn to make the scarf, I have no idea what yarn it is -- there was no wrapper, but I thought it would be a pretty scarf.
So, now to use up the rest of the Wool Ease Thick and Quick, I am knitting a color block scarf until it is gone! I am also starting a skirt for Hannah that is in the Summer 07 issue of Knitty.com made with Elsebeth Lavold Hempathy.
AJ is doing so much better!
AJ is doing great! He is eating food and has been for about a week. This is a huge step in the right direction!! He is currently eating about 40 cc's of formula per feeding and needs to get up to 90 cc's of formula a feeding to leave the hospital!
Thanks again to all of you who have AJ in your prayers and thoughts!
Roaring Springs
Larry's work had their company picnic on Saturday and it was at Roaring Springs! Anders was so excited, he just barely made the 48" cutoff to go on all the super fun rides.
Hannah, though still a little on the small side, rode on the river and then played on little splash mountain.
Then at the end Larry took her down a big slide. I guess she was freaked out the whole time, but in the end, she wanted to do it again!
